It is finally here!

We are very excited to announce the release of the all-new Whillo streaming platform and apps.

After a slightly longer than expected approval process in the App Store, it is now finally ready for download in both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Good News/Bad News

First, Good News

• The good news is that the new app is much better/faster/loaded-with-many-new-and-improved-features (downloading entire audiobooks, anyone?). It also works significantly better in areas with poor network connectivity; the entire app and all content loads in under 2.5 seconds on an average internet connection. Read all about the new features here.
• The other good news is that we've simplified user plans. There are now two options: Personal and Family plans. Both plans include access to all audiobooks and music, with Family Plan users being able to use their subscription on up to five devices in the same household. Users that currently have an active Bronze/Silver plan have been automatically upgraded to the new "Personal Plan". All users that previously had a "Gold" plan are automatically being upgraded to a "Family Plan". **Please note: if you are currently on the old Gold/Silver/Bronze plans your monthly pricing will not change as long as the subscription remains active. Once you cancel, those plans will no longer be available for purchase and only the new plans will be available.**

Now, the Bad News

• The bad news is that there are exactly 10 users that are using older devices (anything older than an iPhone 6S or iOS 15) that will no longer be able to use the new app. We can't tell who you are (our analytics only show data in aggregate), but you will need to upgrade your phone to at least Apple iOS 15 in order to continue using the Whillo app. The app developers are using a newer/more modern development framework; older devices like the iPhone 6 will no longer be supported due to the complexity of maintaining older code alongside new code. If you are unable to update your device and unable to use the Whillo app any longer, please contact us.
• The other bad news is that custom playlists and automatic music queuing are not quite available yet. We are aiming to have this feature available for our listeners in early 2025.

Accessing the new Whillo app

Here are some quick directions on how to access the new app:

Online player: Can be accessed by all subscribers at https://app.whillo.com/. Non-subscribers can still visit the new online player, they just won't be able to access the content until a trial has been started.

​Android users with an existing Android/Google subscription: please delete the old app and reinstall the new app from http://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.whillo. All usernames and passwords have been transferred over and you should be able to log in using the same email and password you had previously. If you had an existing subscription this will carry over to the new app. Once you've downloaded the app:

• Open the app and tap the profile/account image in the top left corner of the app.
• Roughly in the middle of the page you'll see small text that says "Sign In" (see screenshot below).
• If you have an active subscription but do not see it after signing in, tap "Restore purchases" in the account menu.
• If your password is not accepted simply tap on "Forgot Password" and a new one will be sent to you.
